CHACE is 41 Records’ premier funk, dance and R&B group. Funky melodic bass lines, rich and full lead vocals along with “BIG” background vocals is Chace’s signature sound – built on a solid, 20th century foundation with 21st century flair. The members are Tracy Wilder, lead and background vocals and David Knight, bass guitar and vocals.

Founded by David and named by Tracy, Chace began as a five member, self-contained band in 1981. Throughout the decade, the group performed in the Northeast and recorded music independently while seeking a recording contract. Unfortunately multiple-piece bands fell out of favor as the music industry preferred acts with minimal personnel. Also, David’s star as a producer/writer for outside artists was rising at the same time.  Therefore, Chace disbanded as the 1980’s came to an end.

As the years went by, Dave felt Chace didn’t get the chance it so deserved. In 2013 he reached out to Tracy along with the group’s original members. Interest was very strong but life challenges and family commitments made a full reunion difficult. Tracy and David were the only two members available so they decided to move forward, but from a different angle. Instead of creating a full band, they reformed Chace as a duo, with a focus towards the song and its message and less of a “band” sound.

“With several of today’s mainstream artists recording music from our era, what better time to introduce a group from that period in time,” says David. “Chace’s classic and contemporary song catalogs, infused with today’s sounds, instrumentation and recording technology. I believe it’s a great time for Chace to re-enter the music industry.”

Chace – the group you “never” heard of is back!
